Chef's Kitchen & Dining Room
When you book the entire house, the chef’s kitchen and dining space are completely yours to enjoy, giving your group the freedom to cook, gather, and settle into the space at your own pace.
The space includes a large fridge and freezer, pantry tea essentials, baking equipment, pizza-making tools, quality cookware, and an espresso machine for café-style coffee at home. Thoughtfully styled with beautiful ceramic plates and bowls, the kitchen and dining area were designed to make shared meals feel warm, creative, and inviting.
The Lounge
The lounge at The Artist’s House offers a warm and inviting space to fully unwind. Stretch out across two full-sized couches beside the fireplace, settle into the Crystal Movie Lounge with the TV and bean bag chairs, or spend quiet afternoons exploring the home’s library of art books, photography, and inspiring reads.
Filled with original artwork and layered creative details throughout, the space was designed for connection, relaxation, and cozy nights in after exploring Wānaka and the surrounding mountains.
Outdoor Courtyard
The outdoor space features pizza oven, BBQ, infrared sauna, and outdoor games, all surrounded by uninterrupted mountain vistas and vast night skies. With the sound of the river flowing behind the property, the courtyard offers a peaceful and immersive atmosphere
Master Bedroom With Ensuite

Privately positioned upstairs with access from the lounge area, the master bedroom offers a spacious and peaceful retreat within The Artist’s House. Spanning 38.5sqm, the room features a super king-size bed, dressing area, large wardrobe space, ensuite with double shower, and thoughtfully curated books, artwork, and creative details throughout. The space also includes a small sound system and a hidden Murphy bed that can be prepared for an additional guest if needed.

This flexible 18.7sqm bedroom can be configured as either a California king bed or two king single beds. The Artist’s House. Guests can let Sonia know their preferred setup upon booking, with optional kid-friendly duvet covers also available for families travelling near Wānaka.
The room includes a small desk, wardrobe space, and access to the shared art bathroom featuring a bath, shower, and separate toilet.
Queen's Room
This cozy 14.4sqm bedroom blends comfort, history, and artistic character. The queen-size bed was handcrafted from the historic billiard table of the Cardrona Hotel, where Sonia grew up during the 1970s. The room includes a small desk, wardrobe, and private outdoor access with a sitting area, creating a peaceful spot to enjoy the fresh mountain air and peaceful running river sounds. Guests also have access to the shared art bathroom featuring a bath, shower, and separate toilet.
Travelling Solo or
As A Couple?
Not looking to book the whole house? The Artist’s House offers private bedroom accommodation with access to shared spaces.

Solo travellers receive a 30% discount on individual room bookings.

Couples or guests booking either the Queen Room or King/Twin Room also have the option to reserve the adjoining shared bathroom privately by blocking the second room for an additional 30% on top of the individual room rate.
Weddings & Elopements
Chosen Wānaka for your Destination Wedding?
The Artist's House is perfect to rent for your private elopement, ideal to have family & friends over for pizza before or after the big day, and there are opportunities for unique pre wedding photography using a stock of creative props.
